This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Okemos is in Michigan, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Okemos follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

The beef pho was rich, fragrant, and comforting, with tender beef and a flavorful broth. The bun rieu was a standout. The broth had a wonderful depth of flavor, and the pork meatball tasted house-made with a subtle crab flavor that made the dish feel especially authentic. I also appreciated that the noodles were different from those used in the pho. The vermicelli platter with grilled protein was fresh and interactive, with plenty of herbs and vegetables for making your own wraps. The shrimp lotus root salad was refreshing, light, and felt incredibly nutritious while still being packed with flavor. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and the portions were generous. We left full, happy, and impressed by both the quality and value. If you’re looking for authentic Vietnamese food beyond just pho, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Ordered door dash, so can't speak to anything other than the food which was so bad I regret the Styrofoam packaging in my garbage more than the food in there. The fresh, balanced flavors that I cherish about good vietnamese were absent. Even the spring roll sauces were insipid and not a plus. Poorly prepped vegetables never delight, either.

This place was really good! I walked in and was a bit hesitant because it was completely empty. We sat down and decided to push through to see how it would go. We ordered appetizers that were delicious and I ordered the curry chicken (they didnt have it available which really bummed me out) and ultimately settled on the Chicken Pho. It was DELICIOUS! If you are looking for a delicious hole in the wall which robust flavor and great portions definitely give this place a try! I would absolutely return to this location!

Food: 4/5 (Good food!) Service: 5/5 (Service was great!) Atmosphere: 4/5 (Atmosphere was cool with nice decor) King Pho is a Vietnamese restaurant that I noticed driving, so I had to stop. Located in Okemos, Michigan, they are known for their Pho, Banh Mi, and other delicious dishes; the Vietnamese coffee was delicious as well! Great place for lunch or dinner. The food was good! Lovely fresh broth, good Pho with all the fixings. I had one at the restaurant and one to go. There's a variety of options, including vegetarian and vegan choices, and like I mentioned, the Vietnamese coffee was really good! The service is great! Fast great service, friendly, and the water cups stayed full. The environment is inviting, clean, and comfortable. Free parking in the free parking lot. Great for a quick bite or longer sit. Outdoor and indoor seating. Wheelchair accessible, and price point is $10-20 per person.

Oh wow color me surprised!!! I didn’t expect too much, just wanted some Pho. When I talked to the owner, I realized he got Hue accent (or so I think), which promptly convinced me to try their Bun Bo Hue. I also ordered Bo Kho (beef stew) and a Vietnamese coffee. Now everything’s good. But what makes the BBH so special is it tastes much much closer to the real bun bo hue you find in Hue than the usual bbh served in Vietnamese restaurants in the US. Bbh in the US is often the Southern style, a bit too heavy on the sate sauce and often uses the thick chubby noodle. Here it has less sate and brings out more the fragrance of Mam ruoc (shrimp paste), and they use the thin vermicelli noodle just like in Hue!!! It tastes so good!!!! The beef stew is also great, good portion, and reasonably priced. The banh mi that goes w it is warm and toasty and crispy. Just perfect!! Good food, good coffee, great service, clean restaurant, full of light, clean bathroom… I’m sure I’m gonna be a regular here from now on.
